PROCESSING DEEDS

 Use ApplicationXtender to list all documents recorded in the register of deeds office from the previous day.

 Pick out deeds, permanent ROW easements, transfer on death deeds, other documents and note them in the appraisers Doc Log.  A deed can be a name change, split, map work card or  combination. Ignore mortgages, and release of mortgages.

PUC's and transfer on death deeds are made "map work cards" in our doc log. They do not change anything, but we need to note them for future reference.

 Using the legal description on the deed,  locate the parcel in the GIS .  Then  look it up in Orion. Check the owner names on the deed, and see if they match Orion. If they don't match, make it a map work card in the log.  We can allow small errors on the deed  like missing middle initials and such.

This is a very important task. The log must be updated carefully, or the wrong owner could placed on a parcel.  Remember, quality is more important than quantity.
